DickersonBakker is seeking to identify candidates for an expected future opening on our team of professional fundraising consultants. If you have a successful track record in major gift and/or capital campaign fundraising and are interested in pursuing a career in consulting, then this is an exciting opportunity to join one of the nation’s fastest growing and most recognized consulting groups in the faith-based sector. 

The ideal candidate will align well with our corporate culture and core values and will be able to demonstrate seven years of successful professional experience in nonprofit fundraising – particularly major gift development – plus a degree in nonprofit administration, marketing / communications, fundraising, business, or related field. Strong communication skills and strong organizational skills are critical ingredients to success. Previous consulting experience is not required. Some experience with capital campaigns is preferred but not required. Prior experience working with Rescue Missions and/or The Salvation Army would also be considered an advantage. 

DickersonBakker consultants provide counsel and assistance to clients in developing and/or executing strategic, operational plans to help them achieve their fundraising goals. On a day-to-day basis, the types of services DickersonBakker fundraising consultants typically provide include:
•    Administer assessments to determine gaps and opportunities for fundraising.
•    Craft fundraising strategy and help in implementing and evaluating those plans.
•    Recommend operational and/or structural changes in an organization to improve fundraising effectiveness, efficiency, and outcomes.
•    Teach, guide, train and motivate client personnel in all aspects of fundraising.
•    Research prospective donors and coach clients in how to cultivate relationships and ask for gifts.
•    Help create compelling fundraising offers, materials and media.
•    Conduct feasibility studies.
•    Manage client capital campaigns.
•    Aid in recruiting and developing talent for clients’ fundraising teams.

This position works remotely, but you must be willing to travel domestically at least 40% of the time. While location is flexible, we may give preference to candidates who live in close proximity to areas where we have office locations, concentrations of clients / staff, and/or to hub airports.
