It is with great pleasure that we announce our partnership with The Salvation Army Greater Cleveland (TSAGC) in Cleveland, Ohio in the search for its first Director of Development (DOD). This is an exciting opportunity with the organization and comes at a pivotal point in the life of TSAGC and its mission to “preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.”

The Director of Development is a senior level position and is responsible for strengthening and expanding The Salvation Army of Greater Cleveland’s fund raising and awareness of the mission and services. With the support of the Divisional Secretary of Greater Cleveland (DSGC) and the Advisory Board, the Director of Development will implement an advancement plan that will include major donors, corporate, business, and special event efforts. This position reports directly to the Divisional Secretary for Greater Cleveland Area Services. This position also works in tandem with the Divisional Development Department serving Northeast Ohio which includes grant writing, direct mail, digital fundraising, marketing campaigns, gift planning and major giving efforts.

The right leader for this “career opportunity” will be an experienced fundraising professional who has demonstrated strategic leadership experience as well as proven success in corporate and major gifts fundraising. S/he should have a mind for brand-building and be able to design and implement a comprehensive multi-channel development strategy, to include corporate partnerships. Building on the fundraising efforts and goals of the territory and division, as well as a recently completed comprehensive development assessment, the DOD will focus on GCAS on growing brand presence and building out their newly created Development Department.
