While in some respects the global Bible movement’s “best kept secret,” this revolutionary ministry’s name is not foreign to its foundation friends and other sophisticated giving partners. Likewise, as a new(er) illumiNations member, unfoldingWord is no stranger to ETEN nor to its many industry-leading ministry partners (the household names in Bible translation) who prize unfoldingWord for its paradigm-shifting approaches to Bible translation and global Scripture access.

For highly qualified and missionally-driven fundraising professionals less familiar with the Bible translation world, unfoldingWord is a critical strategic partner in a well-funded missional space where ministry alliances and partnerships have become a recognized high priority among funders. At the same time and despite its rapid growth, as a brand, unfoldingWord remains something of a lesser-known treasure than its historic Bible translation partners, many of whom actually fund unfoldingWord themselves.

Consequently, this mission-driven and field-focused ministry is seeking its first Chief Development Officer in order to proactively professionalize its development department and diversify its overall funding base. The new CDO should be an experienced fundraising leader with the capacity for high-level strategic development leadership and team building, as well as the proven ability to develop and oversee a strong multi-channel fundraising department. In addition to strong professional acumen and a deep faith commitment, culture is of paramount importance to the success of this role.
