Major Gifts Manager

Company: Safari Club International Foundation

Location: Flexible

Safari Club International Foundation (SCI-F) is seeking a highly qualified fundraiser who will assume responsibility for the identification, cultivation, management, solicitation and stewardship of a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the world’s leaders in wildlife conservation and outdoor education.

Since 2000, SCI-F has been at the forefront of leading the effort to increase the knowledge and importance of the global hunting community in society around the world.  Through the Foundation’s focus of “First for Wildlife”, over $60 million has been provided to promote science-based conservation programs and projects through wildlife research, capacity building in governments, youth and teacher education and humanitarian efforts.  In doing so, SCI-F ensures the best available science is used in developing and implementing wildlife policy and management.  Through work with its sister organization, Safari Club International and its 190+ chapters around the world, SCI-F has continued to grow in its capacity to fund a wide variety of local, national and international projects and programs.

Due to the growing need to fund and support wildlife conservation and education programs and projects, SCF-I is expanding its development/fundraising reach through creating a new position, Major Gifts Manager.  They are looking for the right individual who will provide leadership in implementing and executing sustainable funding strategies to donors and prospects throughout their assigned territory.  Candidates will have proven and successful experience in leadership, resource development and relationship management.  Prior experience in non-profit fundraising roles is preferred, however, an individual with a successful track record in consultative sales will be given serious consideration.

In short, SCI-F is looking for an individual who has the ability to tell the SCI-F story in a way that inspires and motivates current and potential donors as well as other potential partners and stakeholders to cause a desire and action to be part of the effort.  In doing so, candidates will be avid hunters with a passion for protecting and nurturing wildfire around the world through sound, effective conservation and educational programs and projects.
