Medical Teams International (MTI) is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to serve as a leader-implementer by setting overall strategy and ensuring excellent implementation of the mass market communications and fundraising functions of MTI. This role will give special attention to branding and communications while having experience with and overseeing other aspects of mass market fundraising.

Founded 36 years ago, MTI provides medical and dental care, humanitarian aid, and holistic development programs to all people in need, regardless of religion, nationality, sex, or race. The mission of MTI is to demonstrate the love of Christ to people affected by disaster, conflict, and poverty around the world. A passionate calling to this compelling and faith-based global mission will be vitally important for the successful candidate.

This is a unique opportunity for the right individual who has the leadership skills and proven non-profit marketing experience necessary to fulfill this critical leadership role based MTI’s headquarters in Portland, Oregon. The Director of Marketing and Communications will focus on promoting programs and initiatives to generate interest and support from current and past donors as well engaging a new generation of donors. Historic success in growing a mass donor base is central to this role, as is demonstrated strength in creative branding toward the building of increased national brand awareness.

The incoming Director will be a member of MTI’s Senior Leadership Team, responsible for Marketing Strategy and Planning, Fundraising, and Branding/Communications, as well as certain unique organizational focus areas such as church mobilization and prayer strategy.

Successful candidates will possess a minimum of ten (10) years previous non-profit marketing experience with specific leadership experience in non-profit fundraising and engaging mass audiences. He/She will demonstrate the ability to build high-performing teams and operate well in a fast-paced work environment. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required with an MBA or other Master’s level/professional degree preferred.
