Vice President of Development
It is with great pleasure that we announce the opening of our search for the newly created Vice President of Development role at Biblica, The International Bible Society. Known for its world-renown NIV Bible translation, this historic Bible translation ministry holds a place of global significance in the Bible translation space and enjoys a unique history spanning more than 200 years of effective Bible engagement. Building on its storied past with a mission to “provide the Bible in accurate, contemporary translations and formats so that more people around the world will have the opportunity to be transformed by Jesus Christ,” Biblica’s ministry continues to grow in scope and impact.
The New VP of Development will report to the Senior Vice President of Advancement, Tracy Thomas. An experienced, passionate, and highly successful MG fundraiser herself, the increasing demands of Tracy’s strategic leadership role within Biblica and its international alliances have led to the creation of this VP-level position. Managing the major gifts team and foundation efforts of the ministry, the new VP of Development will have overall responsibility for the successful implementation of donor-facing revenue growth within Biblica, including events and campaigns. A passionate and professional fundraiser, s/he will work alongside the VP of Donor Engagement and participate as a member of Biblica’s Global Leadership Group.
The right candidate will have strong, documented, and recent success in major gifts fundraising and portfolio management, as well as significant team building, leadership, and management experience. A player-coach, the VP will have a heart and passion for the “art” of major gift fundraising. At the same time, s/he will be responsible for the strategic implementation and day-to-day management of the development department. Therefore, a head for data, systems, and the science side of fundraising will also be indispensable. Most importantly, the right candidate will have a strong personal calling to Bible translation and global Scripture engagement, as well as a mature and personal evangelical Christian faith. This is a senior leadership position with an exceptional global ministry and will allow for a remote work environment. Regular travel to be expected of up to 50%. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply.
